Today's Gift
People today are taught at an early age to be self-sufficient. Independence is considered a strength, and dependence a weakness. As a result, we come to believe that we can make it on our own. And we can, but at what cost? Many of us fill our loneliness with chemical substances, food or other dysfunctional behaviors. Humans are social creatures; we need each other for physical and emotional support, and for a healthy exchange of ideas.
Even more, we need each other for spiritual development. Our Higher Power loves us equally and often speaks to us through one another. We truly learn about our spiritual nature in the loving acts we exchange.
I am never lonely when showing someone that I care.

********************************Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Keep It Simple
Our First Step in this program introduces us to a radical idea -- that accepting our powerlessness is beneficial. Yielding to life's embrace takes us in wonderful directions. The experience of meeting this still unformed day, defining how we will live today, making contact with our Higher Power, accepting the variety and the beauty that is here for us -- far exceeds our individual power. Yet in surrendering to life as it unfolds, we find ourselves on an adventure. This is like reading a good story or unraveling an exciting mystery.
Anyone, whether they have our affliction or not, who tries to take control of what cannot be controlled, brings trouble to their self. Today let us engage with life.
Action for the Day: I will accept both the embrace and the insecurity of not being in charge.

One Day At A Time
We are sure the Universe wants us to be happy, joyous, and free.
We cannot subscribe to the belief that this life is a vale
of tears, though it once was just that for many of us. But
it is clear that we made our own misery. The Universe didn't do it.
Avoid then, the deliberate manufacture of misery, but if
trouble comes, cheerfully capitalize it as an opportunity
to demonstrate our Higher Power's omnipotence.

Quality thoughts***************************Daily MotivationExcerpt of The Daily Motivator
by Ralph Marston
Thoughts can be poisonous, or they can be nourishing. What kind of thoughts have you been thinking?
What if every time you had a thought, that thought became reality? Would you be careful about choosing your thoughts?
Although your thoughts on their own do not magically become real, everything you create does begin with a thought. The quality of your life mirrors the quality of your thoughts.
Your thoughts can enable you, empower you, encourage and energize you, or they can hold you back and keep you stuck. Fortunately, you choose the thoughts that fill your mind.
Though thoughts can seem to be fleeting and inconsequential, your thoughts are always leading you in one direction or another. Choose those thoughts that lead toward the kind of life you wish to live.
Reality is what it is, yet what you make of reality is based on how you think about it. Think positive, substantive, meaningful thoughts and follow where they lead.
