Today's Gift
The difficult spells in our lives come to an end. And no matter the depth of our disturbance, we will survive. We forget that the depths teach us how to better appreciate the heights.
Sorrow heightens joy. Depression heightens laughter. We wouldn't know the joys and laughter were it not for the sorrows. In them we learn to be patient, waiting for the wisdom which will light our way. In them we learn to listen for the guidance that beckons us forth.
We must reflect on the troubling experiences we've passed through of late. They made us wiser; they gave us strength. They changed us, moving us ever closer to the person, whole and happy, we desire to be.
Difficulties often precede enlightenment. They pull us inward, perhaps push us to search for our connectedness to the Universe, a connectedness that is at home in our hearts. The paradox is that these painful periods strengthen our oneness with the Spirit.
If the day looks bleak, I will accept it as a hand reaching toward me, to pull me forward, to secure my place in the spiritual family.

********************************Twenty-Four Hours a DayKeep It Simple
We have learned from experience that a wave of peacefulness washes over us after we have successfully finished a task that was difficult to face. Courage has its reward. However, from time to time, and from task to task, we find we need the reminder that peace will come once the loose ends have been tied by us.
Our search for peace was desperate and unending in past years. Our fears overwhelmed us more often than not. Courage was seldom displayed. Tasks were often left half done or not done at all. Challenges went unmet. And peace eluded us.
We are so lucky that the program found us, and that we found the program! We are looking forward, at last, with the courage that trusting a higher power has given us. Peace is ours, now and always, as we go forth with the strength of the program to bolster us. New jobs, new friends, new situations may still elicit our old fears. But their hold on us is gone. We have learned that we face nothing alone. What relief that simple truth brings.
Action for the Day: Courage is one of the program's gifts. I will have courage to go forward: to meet the new day, to handle whatever confronts me. Peace is coupled with courage, now and forever.

One Day At A Time
If, when you honestly want to, you find you cannot quit entirely,
or if when drinking, you have little control over the amount you take,
you are probably alcoholic. If that be the case, you may be suffering
from an illness which only a spiritual experience will conquer.

Thought to Ponder
The ultimate defense against the first drink is a spiritual one.

Energy level***************************Daily MotivationExcerpt of The Daily Motivator
by Ralph Marston
How do you know what’s right for you and what’s not? One good way is to pay attention to your energy level.
There are people, places, activities, and thoughts that make you feel more energetic. There are certain environments, challenges, concepts, and rhythms that raise your energy level.
What can you do to bring more of those things into your life? How can you add a little more energy to your experience right now?
Notice what energizes you, and notice also what drains you. Orient yourself, physically, mentally, spiritually, in ways that keep you in a more positive and energetic state.
You are in a constant state of interaction with many different aspects of existence. By strategically selecting the most empowering interactions, you can vastly improve the quality of your life.
Energy is an essential and defining component of your being. Do all you can to make that energy plentiful and positive.
