Today's Gift
I don’t like a person to be too efficient. They're likely to be not human enough. ~Felix Frankfurter
On our path we seek balance. Pursuing any single value and ignoring another, whether it is efficiency, hard work, or leisure, will make one-sided adults of us. Psychology tells us our right brain is the creative, intuitive side and our left brain is the concrete, fact-gathering side. Spending our energies developing only one part of ourselves will leave us incomplete. We have been taught we should be decisive, practical, and have our feet on the ground.
As humans, we are also creative and sensitive. We think in stories, pictures, and metaphors, and we love music. At our best, we are willing to place people and relationships ahead of things and goals. When we are wisest and most human, we draw on the many sides of ourselves.
Today, I will use both the creative, intuitive part of me and the practical, decisive part that can get a job done.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day
It's not infrequent that we are faced with a dilemma; what is the best action to take in a certain situation? We can be guided, rightly, in every situation if we but turn inward and let our conscience direct our behavior. We have often heard it said at meetings that when we long for a message from the Universe we will hear it, either through our conscience or in the words of our friends. Thus we can never really be in doubt; our conduct can always be above reproach if we but listen.
Right behavior leads to fortunate opportunities for those who look for them. Behavior that we're proud of seems to attract blessings in our lives. One's good fortune is really God-given and in proportion to one's willingness to act well toward others in all situations.
Simply, what goes around comes around. Our behavior comes back to us, manyfold. In our encounters with others today, we'll have numerous occasions to decide about the best behavior for the particular circumstance. We must not forget that our behavior elicits the responses we receive.
Action for the Day: I will invite blessings today. I will also shower blessings on my friends.

One Day At A Time
Now, what about the rest of the Twelfth Step? The wonderful
energy it releases and the eager action by which it carries our
message to the next suffering alcoholic and which finally translates
the Twelve Steps into action upon all our affairs is the payoff,
the magnificent reality, of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Daily Motivation
Excerpt of The Daily Motivator
Nourished by thoughts
by Ralph Marston
Your life is constantly nourished by your thoughts. Whatever the direction your life is moving, your thoughts have led you there.
Consider any possibility, and by your thoughts about it you have given that possibility a presence in your life. As you dwell on that possibility, its presence grows stronger and more vivid within you.
By giving your thoughts to life’s goodness, you fill your own life with a unique expression of that goodness. By focusing your awareness on the positive possibilities, you gain real access to them.
Your mind is an enormously powerful tool over which you have intentional control. There is no limit to what you can think, and no limit to how far those thoughts can carry you.
You set the direction of your life with the thoughts you most consistently and persistently think. Fill your mind with thoughts of goodness and positive possibility, and allow those thoughts to guide your every action.
Give your life the highest quality nourishment and the most positive energy you can imagine. Let your positive, loving thoughts set the stage for a truly rich and fulfilling life.
