Today's Gift
All of us have some difficult circumstances to face today. Some among us find ourselves in the hospital or in deep debt. Others are worried about pressures and frustrations at work. Tensions and concerns about war and the future of the world affect us all. We have many uncontrollable circumstances in our lives, but we don't have to give ourselves over to them. A person's body may be in jail while in their heart they are free.
We build a palace for our spirits by maintaining contact with our Higher Power. We are always within the circle of our Higher Power's love. Always! Knowing that helps us make peace with the limits on what we can do about our situations. Then we can go forth working to make peace in our relationships, accomplish what is possible in our lives, and make a contribution to others.
Action for the Day: Today, I will remember that the frustrations around me are not all of who I am. When I am at peace within, I live among spiritual riches.
Sound Minds and Bodies
The Universe has abundantly supplied this world with fine doctors, psychologists, and
practitioners of various kinds. Do not hesitate to take your health problems to such
persons. Most of them give freely of themselves, that their fellows may enjoy sound
minds and bodies. Try to remember that though the Universe has wrought miracles among
us, we should never belittle a good doctor or psychiatrist. Their services are often
indispensable in treating a newcomer and in following his case afterward.

I never imagined that the greatest achievement of my life would be peace of mind.

Authentically you
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. ~Matthew 6:34
To worry about something ahead of time is a waste of time and energy that could be better spent on living a full life today.
For instance, if we spend hours today worrying about an important test at school tomorrow, we can't very well concentrate on studying. And if we lie awake tonight agonizing over what we don't know or haven't studied, we're going to be exhausted tomorrow when we take the test.
Wouldn't it be much better to focus on doing all we can today to prepare for the test, and then, knowing we've done our best, let go of it tonight and get a good night's sleep? In fact, if we do that every day of the year, when a big test comes along, we'll know we're as ready as we can be, and won't have a thing to worry about. What a relief it is to know we've done our best today and every day.
What can I do well today so I won't worry about it tomorrow?

Authentically you
by Ralph Marston
Be honest about being you. Pretense is stressful, expensive, difficult to maintain, and offers no real value.
Take a deep, satisfying, genuine breath of fresh air. Feel how good it feels to be at peace with who you are, with how you are, with all you love and care about.
There will always be those who don’t accept you, or don’t respect you. Let that be their problem, not yours.
Your purpose is not to impress anyone, or to get anyone to like you. Let yourself live and experience each moment in a way that is authentically you.
Go forward, do what you do, unburdened by worries about what others might or might not think. Focus on creating value, on making a difference, in the best way you know how.
Give your love and assistance to others, but don’t let the need to please others compromise who you are. Be authentically you, for that’s what’s in the best interest of everyone.
