Today's Gift
Harriet Tubman was a Black woman who devoted her life to helping slaves escapes their bondage. In her youth, she had been hit on the head so she suffered dizzy spells for the rest of her life. In spite of this, and at great risk to her own life, she guided many slaves on the Underground Railroad to freedom.
Freedom from slavery is different today but just as necessary. It may mean freedom from being a slave to what others think of us, freedom from eating more than is healthy for us, freedom from jealousy, and freedom from trying to force others to do what we want them to do.
We are free to be the very best persons we can be. Our own freedom can be even more fulfilling when we welcome others enthusiastically into that land of freedom by allowing them the room to be themselves without fear of judgment. In this way, by freeing ourselves, we free one another.
How can I free myself today?
I had crossed the line. I was free: but there was no one to welcome me to the land of freedom. I was a stranger in a strange land. --Harriet Tubman

Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Keep It Simple
I'll be the sun upon your head, The wind about your face, My love upon the path you tread, And upon your wanderings, peace. ~Gordon Bok
Today I will feel. I will feel wind and water, earth and sun. I will feel rain, the taste of it, and the soft sting of its coolness. I will feel the familiar touch of my shirt against my skin, my hair across my face in the wind.
Today I will feel love like a candle on a birthday cake that never goes out. No matter how much you blow on it. I will feel compassion like a toothache, a dull pain that lets me go about my business but never goes away. I will feel joy and sorrow, pain, and pleasure. Today I will feel. I will feel like a human being, unique as a snowflake, common as grass.
Today's Action: I will free myself have different feelings thoughout today.

One Day At A Time
Demands
The chief activator of our defects has been self-centered fear—primarily fear
that we would lose something we already possessed or would fail to get something
we demanded. Living upon a basis of unsatisfied demands, we were in a state of
continual disturbance and frustration. Therefore, no peace was to be had unless
we could find a means of reducing these demands. The difference between a
demand and a simple request is plain to anyone.

Thought to Ponder
All I have feared to lose I have gained and all I feared to gain I have lost.

Having fun
by Ralph Marston
Are you having fun yet? Or are you tormenting yourself by assuming you have to take everything so seriously?
A bit of genuine fun would make you feel better. And it’s also likely to make you more effective and engaged with whatever you’re doing.
The way to make anything a dreary chore is to think of it as a dreary chore. The way to make anything fun is to decide you’re going to have fun with it.
Young children develop mental and physical skills at an astoundingly rapid pace. They do it mostly by playing, by having fun.
Having fun allows you to be you, unburdened by worry, unencumbered by overthinking, free to wonder and learn and create. Fun provides a positive perspective, and that can shine a light on your best possibilities.
Choose more often to have fun. Enjoy what you’re doing to the point of delight, and you’ll do it a whole lot better.
