Today's Gift
There is wonder in the moment, if we but look for it, let it touch us, believe in it. And with the recognition and celebration of the wonder comes the joy we desire and await.
Being wholly in tune with the present moment is how we'll come to know the spiritual essence that connects all of life. We search for peace, happiness, and contentment outside of ourselves. We need instead to discover it within us, now and always, in whatever we are experiencing.
We can let our experiences wash over us. Longing for a different time, a distant place, a new situation breed's discontent. It prevents us from the thrill, the gifts offered in this present moment. But they are there.
We can practice feeling joyful in the present, be thrilled with the realization that right now, all is well. All is always well. Life is full of mystery and wonder and each moment of our awareness adds to the wonder.
I am moving forward; we all are. I am on target. I am participating in a glorious, wonderful drama. Let me jump for joy. I have been specially blessed.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Keep It Simple
So often, when a problem occurs, inside or around us, we revert to thinking that if we put our life on hold we can positively contribute to the solution. If a relationship isn't working, if we face a difficult decision, if we're feeling depressed, we may put our life on hold and torment ourselves with obsessive thoughts.
Abandoning our life or routines contributes to the problem and delays us from finding the solution
Frequently, the solution comes when we let go enough to live our life, return to our routine, and stop obsessing about the problem.
Sometimes, even if we don't feel like we have let go or can let go, we can "act as if" we have, and that will help bring about the letting go we desire.
You don't have to give up your power to problems. You can take your focus off your problem and direct it to your life, trusting that doing so will bring you closer to a solution.
Action for the Day: Today, I will go on living my life and tending to my routine. I will decide, as often as I need to, to stop obsessing about whatever is bothering me. If I don't feel like letting go of a particular thing, I will "act as if" I have let go of it until my feelings match my behavior.

One Day At A Time
Resentment is the "number one" offender. It destroys more alcoholics
than anything else. From it stem all forms of spiritual disease, for we have
been not only mentally and physically ill, we have been spiritually sick.
When the spiritual malady is overcome, we straighten out mentally and physically.
- Alcoholics Anonymous, (How It Works) p. 64
Thought to Ponder
We are prisoners of our own resentments.
Forgiveness unlocks the door and sets us free.

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator
Step back from the frenzy
by Ralph Marston
Much of what feels so urgent right now, you won’t even remember tomorrow. Step back from the frenzy, and enjoy some perspective.
The news headlines screech and scream, but there’s nothing new about them. The real news is that life carries on, its wonder and beauty endlessly unfolding.
Take a moment, take a breath, and experience the miracle of existence, of awareness. Think of all the good choices you have, and how many more there must be that you’ve never even thought to consider.
Most of what demands your attention, doesn’t deserve it. Ease away from all that, and see the deep beauty in what you’ve lately forgotten to notice.
You put great effort into being able to live a good life. Remind yourself to fill its moments with substance, with meaning, with what’s real, with what matters to you.
Feel good about this moment simply because it is, because you are here to live it. And you’ll find plenty of worthwhile, fulfilling things to do with it.
