Today's Gift
Patience is the calm acceptance that things can happen in a different order than the one you have in mind. — David G. Allen
Don't panic!
If panic strikes, we do not have to allow it to control our behaviors. Behaviors controlled by panic tend to be self-defeating. No matter what the situation or circumstance, panic is usually not a good foundation. No matter what the situation or circumstance, we usually have at least a moment to breathe deeply and restore our serenity and peace.
We don't have to do more than we can reasonably do - ever! We don't have to do something we absolutely cannot do or cannot learn to do!
This healthy way of life we are seeking, is built on a foundation of peace and quiet confidence - in ourselves, in our Higher Power, in the growth process.
Do not panic. That takes us away from the path. Relax. Breathe deeply. Let peace flow through our body and mind. From this base, our Source shall supply the necessary resources.
Today, I will treat panic as a separate issue that needs immediate attention. I will refuse to allow panicky thoughts and feelings to motivate me. Instead, I will let peace and trust motivate my feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Keep It Simple
Quiet My Mind
Higher Power,
Teach me to quiet my mind.
Stop my thoughts from racing from one thing to another.
Stop me from the obsessive thinking about the lives of others.
Help me rest and quiet my mind.
Help me let go of trying to control the lives of others.
Free my mind to be at rest.
This I pray.
we would refuse air, food, or sunshine. And for the same reason. When we refuse air,
light, or food, the body suffers. And when we turn away from meditation and prayer,
we likewise deprive our minds, our emotions, and our intuitions of vitally needed support.
As the body can fail its purpose for lack of nourishment, so can the soul.

Today I pray over the things that I used to drink over.

One Day At A Time
Prayer
Those of us who have come to make regular use of prayer would no more do without it thanwe would refuse air, food, or sunshine. And for the same reason. When we refuse air,

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator
by Ralph Marston
If you let it, adversity will illuminate a powerful part of you. It’s the part of you that can transcend your current limitations.
Feel the frustration, feel the fear, feel the discomfort, the remorse. And then feel the strength, the will, the inspiration and commitment to do something about it all.
Look honestly at what has gone wrong, and make the choice not to stand for it anymore. Make the choice to do whatever is necessary, day after day, step after step, to improve life in a specific way.
Grab the mistake, the difficulty, the hardship, and turn it on its head. Take whatever has held you back and transform it into a forceful form of fuel to move you forward.
Resolve to make each setback something you can eventually be thankful for. Then act with persistence until you are there.
Own the adversity, and own the positive power it sparks within you. Focus that power on making life better.
