Today's Gift
The trouble with deep feelings is they shout over the soft-spoken voices of our thoughts. When our consciousness is bombarded with the deafening volume of out-of-control emotions, perspective is impossible.
When fear is in control, fight or flight are our only options. More often than not, we choose flight and scurry off to one of our numerous hiding places. There, we can’t hear the dissenting opinions voiced by our own thoughts; in effect, our most responsible self is drowned out.
But action talks louder than fear or any other rampaging emotion. If confronted directly and bravely, any tyrant emotion reveals itself as a mouse rather than a lion, a mouse whose terrifying roar is really a squeak held up to a microphone.
Let me not be intimidated by emotional outbursts. I know that persistent, rational action will see me through.

********************************Twenty-Four Hours a DayKeep It Simple
Some of us have doubted our inner voice so completely that we abandoned it totally. Many of us have discovered in recovery that by our denial we had violated our inner voice with lies, even to ourselves. Now we question whether we can trust our instincts, and we may not know what we feel.
Spiritual recovery is a return to our guts and our heart. Standing up and speaking from our hearts may be difficult at times, but our self-respect rises as we do. That is where we go for our final decision-making. We develop better reception for the inner voice as we live this program. We accept that we are never absolutely right. We continue with humility, knowing we may be wrong and listening to others and our Higher Power. Yet we must live with our choices.
Action for the Day: I will seek the courage to be faithful to my own instincts.

One Day At A Time
Each of us would like to live at peace with our self and with our fellows.
We would like to be assured that the grace of our Higher Power can do for us what
we cannot do for ourselves. We have seen that character defects based
upon shortsighted or unworthy desires are the obstacles that block our
path toward these objectives. We now clearly see that we have been
making unreasonable demands upon ourselves, upon others, and upon our Higher Power.

Thought to Ponder
I can't do my Higher Power's will my way.

Live authentically***************************Daily MotivationExcerpt of The Daily Motivator
by Ralph Marston
In order to live the life you want, you must be who you are. That may sound like a cute play on words, but think about it.
Do you think your own thoughts? Do you dream your own dreams? Do you set your own goals? Or do you borrow them from someone else? Having more and more of what you don’t really want in the first place, will not bring happiness. The life you want, will not come from following someone else’s dream, or someone else’s idea of the best place to live, or someone else’s idea of the best car to drive.
True happiness and fulfillment require that you have the courage to be your own person. There’s a reason why you want the things you want. It is because you’re the person best equipped to achieve them.
When you authentically pursue what you truly want from life, then you are fulfilling your own unique set of possibilities, making your own special contribution, creating value as only you can do.
Be authentically you. You, and all the world, will be richer for it.
