Today's Gift
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye. ~Antoine de St. Exupéry
A tuning fork is a small tool that is used to tune musical instruments. It is tapped softly and then set down. As it vibrates, it gives off a musical tone. When its vibrations perfectly match the vibrations of the note played on the instrument, the instrument is in tune. When the note matches the tuning fork, this can be both felt and heard.
Our hearts work like a tuning fork. When the heart feels completely in tune with a decision or thought or action in our lives, then we know it is the right one for us. We can actually feel the harmony inside our bodies.
Sometimes what we know deep in our hearts gets clouded over by doubts and questions and other people's opinions and judgments. We need to clear away such clouds and listen to our hearts, for our hearts carry the wisdom of our Higher Power.
Am I in tune with my heart today?

********************************Twenty-Four Hours a Day
When we were using alcohol and other drugs, we often thought that we were different from others. We secretly thought that no one could understand us. Maybe we tried to be one of the group, but we were lonely. Now we know for sure--we are different from others. Everyone's unique. We all have this in common. Being like others helps us feel safe and normal. But we need to feel good about the ways we're different from others too. We think a little different, act a little different, and look a little different from anyone else. We each have our own way to make life better for others.
Prayer for the Day: Higher Power, help me be an individual. Help me use my special gifts, not hide them.
Action for the Day: Today, I'll make a list of the things I'm good at. I'll think about how I can use these gifts.

One Day At A Time
We ought to sit down with the family and frankly analyze the past as we
now see it, being very careful not to criticize them. Their defects may be
glaring, but the chances are that our own actions are partly responsible.
So we clean house with the family, asking each morning in meditation that
our Creator show us the way of patience, tolerance, kindliness and love.

Thought to Ponder
Love is less a feeling than a thousand tiny acts of kindness.

Life’s magnificent bargain***************************Daily MotivationExcerpt of The Daily Motivator
by Ralph Marston
Don’t shy away from life’s challenges. Those challenges are precisely where you will find new richness.
The more difficult something is to accomplish or acquire, the greater value it has. The more trouble you must endure and the more resources you must expend, the more you will treasure the results.
Difficult times are the times when you grow strong. Challenging efforts are the ones that force you to become more capable.
By its very nature, adventure is not easy. And you certainly deserve a life of adventure.
So accept the challenges and agree to the terms of life’s magnificent bargain. Go to the trouble, put up with the inconveniences, deal with the difficulties, and claim your greatest rewards.
Even life’s worst moments provide you the opportunity to give your best. Take that opportunity every time.
