Today's Gift
My life has been a tapestry of rich and royal hue, an everlasting vision of the ever-changing view. —Carole King
Every event of our lives is contributing a rich thread to our personal tapestry. Each of us is weaving one unique to ourselves, but all of our tapestries are complementary. We need others' rich designs in order to create our own.
We seldom have the foresight to understand the worth, the ultimate value of a particular circumstance at its beginning. But hindsight offers us clarity. It's good to reflect on the many circumstances that failed to thrill us; in all cases we can now see why we needed them. As our trust in the Universe and the goodness of all experiences grows, we'll more quickly respond with gladness when situations are fresh. No experience is meant for harm. We are coming to understand that, even though on occasion we forget.
Practicing gratitude will help us more fully appreciate what has been offered us. Being grateful influences our attitude; it softens our harsh exterior and takes the threat out of most new situations.
If I greet the day, glad to be alive, I will be gladdened by all the experiences in store for me. Each is making a necessary contribution to my wholeness.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Keep It Simple
It is often with some difficulty that we come to understand our need for personal boundaries. We also have to struggle to maintain them once they’re defined. Our boundaries are blurred when our desire to be loved and needed by others seduces us into becoming overly involved in their lives. Or when we find ourselves overly committed with tasks and social engagements—even ones we enjoy. We must remember we need time alone, time for the stillness within to nurture us.
Until we detach from the person or the situation that is drawing us in, we can have no objectivity. We also lose our sense of the Universe’s role in our life when our boundaries are blurred. The Ubnverse gives us our direction, our definition, our vision, and our understanding whenever we ask.
Action for the Day: I will take time with my Higher Power today to remember my boundaries.

One Day At A Time
Continue to Watch
Continue to watch for selfishness, dishonesty, resentment, and fear.
When these crop up, we ask our Higher Power at once to remove them. We discuss
them with someone immediately and make amends quickly if we have
harmed anyone. Then we resolutely turn our thoughts to someone we
can help. Love and tolerance of others is our code.

I can’t fix something if I don’t know what’s wrong.

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator
Can you see?
by Ralph Marston
What if you were less concerned about what others think of you, and more concerned about the truth and quality of their lives? How would that change the things you say and do?
What if you could see every situation from a perspective that’s two or three levels higher than your current one? Would that improve the quality and effectiveness of your responses?
What if you could instantly remember the sum of all difficulties you’ve overcome? Would that make you less worried and anxious about the future?
What if you decided at the beginning of each day to be positive about life no matter what might happen? Would that enable you to spend more energy solving the problems and less time complaining about them?
What if you could see at a glance how deeply interconnected you are to each person you encounter? Would you approach those interactions with more kindness and generosity?
What if you make each choice, and act in every moment, like the very best person you can imagine yourself to be? Can you see the positive difference you will make in the world?
