Today's Gift
If I had to describe something as divine it would be what happens between people when they really get it together. There is a kind of spark that makes it all worthwhile. When you feel that spark, you get a good feeling deep in your gut. —June L. Tapp
How lucky we are, that we can experience that divine spark with one another. The Universe offers us the chance, every moment of our lives from this day forward, to experience divinity. All we are asked to do is be there, for one another, to share fully who we are. Vulnerability gets easier as we learn that we can trust each other, that we can share pain, that it's okay to pull and prod and follow, first you and then me and then them.
What a thrill it is to leave our competition behind! The Universe bonds us together, and the bond will strengthen each of us, but it can elude us, too. It often does when we forget to be there, in one another's presence, when the opportunity comes.
I need these sparks to nurture my growth, singly and collectively. I will be part of a divine experience today.

Appreciation is a big word for a big idea. To appreciate a thing means to really look at its value, its goodness, its beauty and to be glad about it. When we can do this, it changes our life. We become grateful.
It used to be that we felt jealous when someone else was attractive or smart. We felt envy when we saw people who were having fun or who seemed to be in love with each other.
Now that we are sober, we know that we can enjoy the beauty other people create. We can be happy that some people are smart and good at problem-solving. We can be glad that people are in love and raise good kids who will make the world a little better.
When we see these things around us, we know that life holds good things for us, too. There is enough for everyone.
Prayer for the Day: Higher Power, help me turn my envy and jealousy into appreciation. I want to find joy and hope in the good things that others do.
Today's Action: Today I will list three qualities I appreciate in others. Do I want to find these things in myself? How can I do that? I will talk about it with my sponsor.

One Day At A Time
Whatever our ideal turns out to be, we must be willing
to grow toward it. We must be willing to make amends
where we have done harm, provided that we do not
bring about still more harm in so doing.
- Alcoholics Anonymous, (How It Works) p. 69
Thought to Ponder
It is the highest form of self-respect to admit mistakes
and to make amends for them.

Letting go
by Ralph Marston
Some of the actions you take, some of the thoughts you think, have not been helpful to you. Are there any of those thoughts, any actions, you can let go of forever, right now?
Life is a series of choices, and your choices play a major role in the quality of your experience. Are there any choices you can improve upon going forward from this day?
You swim each moment in a vast sea of possibilities. Yet you must swim in a specific, consistent direction or those possibilities have no value.
You must choose a few things over all the other things. Making progress involves letting go of whatever hinders that progress.
Habits and comforts feel good and reassuring, yet they can block you off from a rich and fulfilling life. By selectively letting go of what holds you back you free yourself to move forward.
Don’t burden yourself with anything that has no real meaning or purpose. Let go, lighten your load, and make more space, give more time, to all that truly matters.
