Today's Gift
We all wear masks, and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing some of our own skin. ~André Berthiaume
The masks people wear are as varied as those who wear them, but their purpose is quite simple. We wear masks to hide our real faces from those around us and even from ourselves. There are seductive masks, innocent masks, white knight masks, tough guy masks, black sheep masks, lone wolf masks, and many more. Sometimes we want to take on another identity so others won’t see our insecurities. Or we think taking the form of someone else will give us power over others, or they will like us better, or we can escape ourselves.
The cost of wearing a mask is not getting a chance to develop our real personalities. What masks are we attached to? Are we willing to give them up in the interest of our spiritual growth?
May I have the courage to drop my phony masks in order to grow stronger in self-knowledge.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Keep It Simple
Trusting Ourselves
What a great gift we've been given - ourselves. To listen to ourselves, to trust instinct and intuition, is to pay tribute to that gift.
What a disservice not to heed the leadings and leanings that so naturally arise from within. When will we learn that these leadings and leanings draw us into the Universe's rich plan for us?
We will learn. We will learn by listening, trusting, and following through. What is it time to do?... What do I need to do to take care of myself?... What am I being led to do?... What do I know?
Listen, and we will know. Listen to the voice within.
Action for the Day: Today, I will listen and trust. I will be helped to take action when that is needed. I can trust the Universe and myself.

One Day At A Time
Hit Bottom
Why all this insistence that every A.A. must hit bottom first?
The answer is that few people will sincerely try to practice the
A.A. program unless they have hit bottom. For practicing A.A.'s
remaining eleven Steps means the adoption of attitudes and actions
that almost no alcoholic who is still drinking can dream of taking.

Thought to Ponder
Sobriety without action is fantasy.

Daily Motivation
Excerpt of The Daily Motivator
Whole and indivisible
by Ralph Marston
When you are getting the best of what you desire, it means you have been giving the best of who you are. When you are experiencing genuine fulfillment, it means you have been living with unceasing authenticity.
There’s no way to get around the fact that life is whole and indivisible. What you get and what you experience are inseparable from the way you choose to think, to feel and to be.
What you do in one area of your life exerts a sure and unavoidable effect on other areas of your life. What you think and say and feel and do cannot be removed from all that you are.
It is pointless to seek unfair advantage, because you end up being the victim of your own deviousness. In the same way, it is always beneficial to be loving and compassionate, because the goodness you create flows into your life just as much as any other life.
If you conduct your life through conflict, you make yourself a victim of conflict. When you conduct your life with love and authenticity, you lift up the whole of life into which you are inextricably woven.
There is no here and there or this and that, for it all exists together. Be good to it all, and feel the goodness you give as it reverberates everywhere.
