Today's Gift

Before the rain stops we hear a bird. Even under the heavy snow we see snowdrops and some new growth. —Shunryu Suzuki

The signals that new growth is underway are often very small at first. It's sometimes discouraging when we are trying to remake our lives and all we can see for our efforts is minor growth. That is how the natural world works, and we are part of this world. When the little sprouts of growth first develop under the snow in spring we don't even see them unless we search. Yet, they signal the beginnings of a total transformation. Time will bring vast changes, but only little signs are showing first.

Today, we may search for signs of progress in our lives. The little things we see may signal bigger transformations yet to come. To be true to them in the long run we must accept them - even welcome them - as they are today.

I will notice the subtle movements toward health and renewal in my life. Welcoming them will encourage them.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Keep It Simple

Fulfillment
Everything I need shall be provided today. Everything. Say it, until you believe it. Say it at the beginning of the day. Say it throughout the day.

Sometimes, it helps to know what we want and need. But if we don't, we can trust that the Universe does.

When we ask, trust, and believe that our needs will be met, our needs will be met. Sometimes our Higher Power cares about the silliest little things, if we do.

Action for the Day: Today, I will affirm that my needs will be met. I will affirm that my Higher Power cares and is the Source of my supply. Then I will let go and see that what I have risked to believe is the truth.

One Day At A Time

Self-Seeking
Admitting they may be somewhat at fault, they are sure that other people
are more to blame. They become angry, indignant, self-pitying. What is
their basic trouble? Is they not really a self-seeker even when trying to
be kind? Are they not a victim of the delusion that they can wrest satisfaction
and happiness out of this world if they only manages well?

Thought to Ponder
When I choose the behavior, I choose the consequences.

Daily Motivation

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator

Worth your effort
by Ralph Marston

Misfortune is bad enough on its own. Don’t let it become an excuse for you to be less than your best.

Life is difficult enough already. Don’t make it ten times more difficult by getting aggravated at the difficulties.

Instead, see each difficulty as a reason to raise your expectations. As long as you have to deal with the difficulty, you definitely want to make it well worth your effort.

Sure, misfortune can serve as a perfectly reasonable and understandable excuse to sit back and do nothing for a while. Yet it can just as reasonably be the fire that ignites your passion and pushes you up into a higher level of achievement.

When you’ve experienced misfortune, you’ve already paid a costly price. Choose to get something good and valuable for the price you’ve paid.

Misfortune can motivate you in a way that nothing else can. Tap into that energy and call upon it to propel you in a positive direction of your choosing.
