Today's Gift

Seeking strength from others prevents us from finding our own strength. --Georgette Vickstrom

The principles of the Universe, the friends we have made, mentors, and the contact we have with an ever-available Higher Power afford us valuable strength. However, it's important that we develop our own strength to complement what we look for in others.

Using the tools acquired in our lifetime is a good beginning for cultivating personal strength. It's like growing a garden. We need to tend it daily, nurturing it, discarding the unproductive behaviors like weeds. When we do, we'll discover that the seedlings we're planting at every meeting are taking root and developing blossoms that signal positive growth.

I will be painstaking in nurturing my growth today. My strength will be there when I need it.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Keep It Simple

Zeal is the faculty igniting the other mind powers into the full flame of activity. --Sylvia Stitt Edwards

When enthusiasm is absent in our lives, no activity appears inviting. In fact, most situations foster fear. With fear, we're ever so familiar. The program we're committed to relieves us of all fear, when we work it. And it offers us the enthusiasm that will guarantee positive outcomes for our efforts, when we look to our higher power for the right attitude.

An open, trusting, sincere relationship with our higher power equals enthusiasm about life. But that relationship takes work on our part. When we've done our homework we discover that no lesson will baffle us. Prayer and meditation make all things understandable and guarantee that we will "pass the course" on life.

Action for the Day: I will begin this day, and every day, looking to my Hogher Power for the gift of zeal to live fully every moment, to give fully what I have to give, and to glory fully in all that I receive. My attitude of gratitude will increase my happiness manyfold. I will look to this day with zeal.

One Day At A Time

Fellowship
Still you may say: "But I will not have the benefit of contact with you
who write this book." We cannot be sure. Our Higher Power will determine that,
so you must remember that your real reliance is always upon Them.
They will show you how to create the fellowship you crave.

Daily Motivation

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator

What you desire
by Ralph Marston

Admit to yourself what you really, truly desire. Then go right ahead and do something positive and substantive to make it happen.

There’s a reason you desire whatever you desire. That desire will remind you, encourage you, push you to give the best of what you can give.

Specifically, what would you most like to be doing with your life, and why? You owe it not only to yourself, but to all the world, to follow the purpose you care most about.

From washing machines and jet airplanes to magnificent symphonies and lifesaving medicines, many good and valuable things begin with someone’s desire. What’s possible, or even seemingly impossible, becomes real because of authentic desire.

Exactly how would you love for life to be? Take the time, have the courage, accept the responsibility to answer that in your own unique way.

Explore your desire, dare to dream, and do the work to make those dreams real. There’s goodness and value in what you desire, when you let those desires come to life through your positive efforts.
