Today's Gift
Action for the Day: I will try to love myself, remembering that my Higher Power and other people love me as I am.
Continue
This is not an overnight matter. It should continue for our lifetime. Continue to watch for
selfishness, dishonesty, resentment, and fear. When these crop up, we ask our Higher Power at once to remove them. We discuss them with someone immediately and make amends quickly if we have harmed anyone. Then we resolutely turn our thoughts to someone we can help. Love and tolerance of others is our code.

Sobriety is not a destination, but an everlasting journey.

Live life well
There is nothing stronger in the world than gentleness. —Han Suyin
It may take a while to learn to be gentle with ourselves. We have long standing patterns of abusing and shaming ourselves. Maybe we became this way because we were victims. Now it's easier to attack ourselves for mistakes we've made than to be accountable and make amends. We think we deserve to be rejected if we let our friends know our deepest secrets. In the midst of stress we fly to self-doubt and self-abusing thoughts. We withdraw emotionally, we pout, we expect rejection rather than gentleness.
For today, let us pledge to be gentle with ourselves. Gentleness isn't dishonest; it isn't arrogant or self-centered. It is taking reality - with whatever pain that includes - and treating ourselves a worthwhile person. We will be stronger and less self-centered when we accept this gentleness. We will be as loyal to ourselves as we are to our best friends. Each day with this new attitude will build strength of character and wisdom.
Today, may I treat myself with gentleness and learn the strength it has to teach me.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Keep It Simple
When I came in, they told me, "Let us love you until you can learn to love yourself." --Anonymous
It takes a long time to learn to love ourselves. So many things we've done seem hard to forgive. We might be trying to dig out from under tons of negative garbage, negative images. Fortunately, our friends in this program do love us. That will sustain us as we try to get the picture of ourselves back into proper focus.
The thing we must get locked firmly in our mind is that it's alright to be who we have been and who we are now. We know how to repair the damage now. Our program shows us the way to recovery, the way back to genuine esteem in ourselves as the Universe's creations. The Universe made us, and always loves us just the way we are.

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator
Live life well
by Ralph Marston
Don’t just wish you could get it right and live life well, someday, somehow. Open yourself to the great possibilities of this moment, and live well on this very day.
If you’re worried about anything, consider this. Worry is only possible when you’ve forgotten how strong, capable, flexible, resourceful, resilient you can be.
Remind yourself of all the successful actions you’ve taken to get to this point. Implore yourself to put all that powerful capability to use, today.
Go ahead, allow yourself to feel the way you’d most like to feel. Then go ahead, and act on those positive feelings, empowered by your own will to do great things.
Today belongs to you, and is your time to make a difference. Watch your courage as it carries you forward, giving new value to all you love.
Jump far beyond mere planning, wishing, and hoping for a great life. Push yourself into positive action today, and live life well in your own beautiful way.
