Today's Gift

To heal ourselves is a reclamation of the power we all have as living beings to live in harmony with the life energy and to fulfill our potential as creatures among many on this planet. —Chellis Glendinning

We live in a world that tells us healing only comes from outside ourselves. To some, it may seem odd to think each of us has the ability to heal ourselves.

How is this possible? Easy - we can do it if we believe we can. Whatever we believe we cannot do will remain beyond our ability. But believing we can heal ourselves gives us access to many healing ways. Self-acceptance is healing. Singing, playing, walking by a river are healing. Even helping others with their problems can be healing to us. There are as many ways of self-healing as there are people in the world. Once we experience what is healing for us, we can go on to discover many more healing acts to share with others.

What healing things do I like to do?

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Keep It Simple

This above all; to thine own self be true. William Shakespeare

We believe we can become beautiful people, free of addiction. With belief in a Power greater than ourselves, our Twelve Step program, and the fellowship, we don't have to stay where we were. Our purpose in life is to stay sober and clean.

Our Higher Power knows our true purpose in life and will help us. Our Higher Power knows what we are capable of becoming, although others may misjudge us.

Am I staying true to my purpose?

Action for the Day: I will pray and meditate that I may see the good within me and remain true to my purpose.

One Day At A Time

Honest and Willing
RARELY HAVE we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path.
Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not, completely give themselves to this simple program, usually people who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves.
- Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 58

Thought to Ponder
Willingness, honesty and open-mindedness are the essentials of recovery.

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator

Let yourself be you
by Ralph Marston

It’s difficult to truly and honestly be who you are. It is so difficult, in fact, that many people don’t make the attempt.

And yet, it is even more difficult to continue, day after day, year after year, to deny the beautiful, unique reality of who you are. Though it is hard and demanding work to be you, it is the most satisfying and fulfilling thing you can do with your time.

For it is by being true to your purpose that you fill your world and your experience with exquisite richness. The real, true you is who can offer the very most value, comfort, encouragement and joy to others, to the world, and to all of life.

Living each moment and each situation with uncompromising authenticity is a difficult, inconvenient and often embarrassing choice. Even so, it is far and away the best choice you can make, not only for yourself but also for everything else you care about.

There is great and unique beauty within you. That beauty longs to, and absolutely deserves to see the light of day.

So let go of the pretenses, and the fears and apprehensions, and let yourself be you. Bring life’s goodness more fully into being, in your own delightful way.
