Today's Gift

Don't live the same day over and over again and call that a life. Life is about evolving mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. ― Germany Kent

.... open up to hope and new possibilities...

Some mornings we may awaken filled with thoughts of what is wrong in our lives. Perhaps we obsess about our failures or the limits of our relationships. If we let ourselves sink into self-loathing, we build a wall that separates us from those things that nurture us and give us joy.

When we awaken to the living and growing world, our spirits lift and open up to hope and new possibilities. Walking along an old sidewalk or across an abandoned parking lot, we see cracks in the concrete or asphalt and new green growth pushing through. Where there is enough soil to hold a seed, there is the possibility of a tree someday. The universe seizes opportunities for renewal that slip through the slightest opening. There is always hope for renewal in our life when we are willing to plant the seeds and feed them so they can grow.

Name an experience that has shown you the seeds for new growth.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Keep It Simple

...but time and chance happeneth to them all. --Ecclesiastes

Life, director of the comedy, always lets things get a little out of hand. We all know what would be normal and right, but the right horse sometimes finishes last in the race, and the jerk has all the money. The wise people, like us, are ignored by all, and the good woman gets in trouble with the law. The saint cheats on his income tax, but he never gets caught the way the needy ones like us do, and the worst sinners get saved in the nick of time, while the fittest sometimes just drop dead.

If all the best-laid plans go wrong, maybe we are meant to learn that such important things aren't so important, after all.

If the skies are custard pies waiting to plop down on our hopeful faces, maybe it is best to accept the gift, count it a blessing, and lick our chops.

Action for the DayI will look back and see how have my failures been successes in disguise.

One Day At A Time

Reliance
When we saw others solve their problems by a simple reliance upon
the Spirit of the Universe, we had to stop doubting the power of God.
Our ideas did not work. But the Higher Power idea did.

Thought to Ponder
Reliance on my Higher Power enables me to match calamity with serenity.

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator

Room for growth
by Ralph Marston

You have created many good and valuable things that you don’t even know about. For the consequences of your actions go far beyond you.

Many of the treasures in your life are things you are not yet ready to know or appreciate. They will be there waiting for you when you are ready.

Each day you encounter opportunities for joy and fulfillment that you don’t even recognize as such. Life encompasses much more richness than you can ever fully imagine.

What you already know, is not all there is. And because of that, there is always room for growth.

There is something in your world today that you can take to a higher level. There is some aspect of life’s immeasurable abundance that you have the opportunity to uncover and experience.

Seek right now to connect with a real and refreshing portion of life’s goodness that you’ve never touched before. Know that it is there, and you will find your way to it.
