Today's Gift

Growth is painful. Change is painful. But, nothing is as painful as staying stuck where you do not belong. N. R. Narayana Murthy

We are where we are for a reason. As long as that reason remains, we remain where we are. If we aren't where we think we should be, working on self will help us get to where our deepest self longs to be. Recognizing that you are not where you want to be is a starting point to begin changing your life. This is growth.

And growth is work. We must be willing to do the simple things that our new understanding asks of us. We are never given more than we can handle, and the loving help we need along the way is always available. But we never get this help in advance, only as we need it.

Am I seeking growth?

Higher Power, help me want to grow and be willing to do the simple things, day by day, that add up to big changes.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Keep It Simple

What difference does it make how I am treated by life? My real life is within. --Angela L. Wozniak

It is said that we teach people how to treat us. How we treat others invites similar treatment. Our response to the external conditions of our lives can be greatly altered by our perceptions of those conditions. And we have control of that perception. No experience has to demoralize us. Each situation can be appreciated for its long-term contribution to our growth as a happy, secure person.

No outside circumstances will offer us full time and forever the security we all long for. And in like manner, none will adversely interfere with our well being, except briefly and on occasion.

The program offers us the awareness that our security, happiness, and well being reside within. The uplifting moments of our lives may enhance our security, but they can't guarantee that it will last. Only the relationship we have with ourselves and our Higher Power within can promise the gift of security.

Action for the Day: I will remember the the ripples in my day are reminders to me to go within.

One Day At A Time

Essential Requirements
My friend promised when these things were done I would enter upon a new relationship
with my Higher Power; that I would have the elements of a way of living which answered all
my problems. Belief in the power of a Power Greater than ourselves, plus enough willingness, honesty and humility to establish and maintain the new order of things, were the essential requirements.

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator

Leave a little goodness
by Ralph Marston

Wherever you go, leave a little bit of goodness there. Whatever you undertake, do it in a way that’s beneficial to life.

Giving goodness does not reduce the amount you have. In fact, giving a little goodness enables you to give a lot more.

Feel the good feeling of knowing you’re making a difference. Let go of any concern about being praised or recognized, and just give goodness for the sake of goodness.

Make life less of a struggle and more of the miracle it can be. Enjoy the goodness as you freely let it flow out from you.

Life can be extremely difficult and challenging, but it doesn’t have to be void of meaning or joy. Goodness is possible, available to give, in any situation.

The goodness you offer and enable, fills your life with meaning. Make it your intention every day, every place, to spread that goodness far and wide.

— Ralph Marston
