Today's Gift
An error doesn't become a mistake until you refuse to correct it. --Orlando A. Battista
In our lives, we have always been drawn to extremes. If it isn't white, it must be black. If a little bit feels good, we take a lot. If we are going to do something, only perfection is good enough. So if we don't win, we lose, and if we can't do it perfectly, we feel like a failure.
In life we must learn to seek progress, not perfection. And we can only make progress by trial and error. We learn nothing if we don't try new things. When we accept our imperfections over our need to be perfect, we have to begin to learn how to live in a new way. It doesn't just happen all at once. So when we take our errors and our slips and agree to learn from them, we become stronger in our life.
Today I accept my imperfections, and I will trust the process of progress.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Keep It Simple
They lack confidence, they crave admiration insatiably. They live on the reflections of their self in the eyes of others. They do not dare to be themself. --Anas Nin
How aptly these words describe the person so many of us were. Many activities were not attempted, courses weren't taken, conversations weren't initiated because we lacked confidence. The pain, the constant search for acceptance and love in the eyes and behavior of others, still haunts us. But those days are past. We are daring to be ourselves, one day at a time.
Confidence still wavers on occasion, and we may need assurance that we're lovable. Gratefully, we can look to one another for the additional boost we may need to face the day. Being there for one another, knowing that we understand each other's fears offers the strength to go ahead that we may lack today or tomorrow.
Action for the Day: Today a person may need me to dare to be themself. I will be there.

One Day At A Time
Miraculous
The central fact of our lives today is the absolute certainty
that our Creator has entered into our hearts and lives in a way
which is indeed miraculous. They have commenced to accomplish
those things for us which we could never do by ourselves.

Daily Motivation
Excerpt of The Daily Motivator
Where life has faltered
by Ralph Marston
Weakness carries the opportunity for new strength. Ignorance creates space for new wisdom.
Be honest with yourself about the strategies you employ to hold yourself back. Use that understanding to develop and deploy new strategies for propelling yourself forward.
Don’t curse the shortcomings in your life, or fight against them. Draw energy from them, and transform them into triumphs.
There is much you don’t know, and in every bit of it exists the opportunity to learn. Fears haunt you, and by acting with courage in the face of those fears, you can change your world.
Let the burdens point you toward the possible blessings. Let the failures create a pathway to success.
See clearly those places where life has faltered, and be thankful for the chance to turn them around. Then step forward with love, confidence, courage, determination, and make life as great as you know it can be.
