Today's Gift
Tolerance (I prefer to use acceptance)

Practice acceptance
Accept our quirks, our feelings, our reactions, our peculiarities, and our humanness. Accept our ups and downs, our resistance to change, and our struggling and sometimes awkward nature.

Accept our fears, our mistakes, our natural tendency to duck from problems, and pain. Accept our hesitancy to get close, expose ourselves, and be vulnerable.

Accept our need to occasionally feel superior, to sometimes feel ashamed, and to occasionally share love as an equal. Accept the way we progress - a few steps forward, and a couple back.

Accept our instinctive desire to control and how we reluctantly learn to practice detachment. Accept the way we say we want love, and then sometimes push others away.  Tolerateour tendency to get obsessive, forget to trust our Higher Power, and occasionally get stuck.

Some things we do not tolerate/accept. Do not tolerate/accept abusive or destructive behaviors toward others or ourselves.

Practice healthy, loving tolerance/acceptance of ourselves, said one man. When we do, we'll learn tolerance/acceptance for others. Then, take it one step further; learn that all the humanness we're tolerating/accepting is what makes ourselves and others beautiful.

Today, I will be tolerant/acceptant of myself. From that, I will learn appropriate tolerance/acceptance of others.

Twenty-Four Hours A Day
 Keep It Simple

To speak ill of others is a dishonest way of praising ourselves.--- Will Durant

Sometimes we say bad things about others. When we do this, it makes us look bad too.
Our friends worry what we might say about them behind their backs. They’re afraid to trust us. We become known as gossips.

The things we say about other people tell a lot about us. We are kind or unkind. We gossip or we don’t. This doesn’t mean we have to say everyone is wonderful all the time. As we work our program to see ourselves better, we begin to see other people more clearly too. We see their strong points and their weak points. But we can know these things without gossiping about them.

Prayer for the Day:  Higher Power, help me see others clearly, and in their best light. Let me bring out the good in others.

Action for the Day:  Today, I’ll list the people I’m closest to at work, school, and home. I’ll think of how I talk about them to others. Am I kind?

One Day At A Time
Participation
Even though my typewriter is an old model,
it works quite well except for one of thx keys. . .
It is true that there are forty-six keys that function well enough,
but just one key not working makes the differxnce.
Sometimes it seems to me that our AA program is somewhat like my typewriter
. . . not all the key people are working properly.
You may say to yourself, "Well, I am only one person.
What if I miss a meeting or two?"
But it does make a difference because the AA program, to be effective,
needs the active participation of every member.

Daily Motivation

Receiving abundance

The way to receive life's abundance is to express it. The way to receive life's abundance is to do something creative and useful with it.

There is always something valuable that you can create with your time, your thoughts and actions. In every moment, in every situation, there is something you can do to express life's abundance.

Whatever you're able to create may not be something you particularly desire or require, but that's ok. Because there are other people who wish to have it, and who will happily pay you for it with something else of value to you.

In ways that are familiar and in ways that haven't yet been imagined, you can create value. With gratitude in your heart, and a desire to give meaning to life, you can create value.

You are surrounded by a sea of abundance. You are alive and aware and highly effective, in a universe that's overflowing with possibilities.

Through your own unique perspective, you can transform that raw, formless abundance into specific, tangible value. That is how wealth is created, and there is no limit to how much of it you can create.
