Today's Gift

Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings. William Arthur Ward

Gratitude and acceptance are two magic tricks available to us in life. No matter who we are, where we are, or what we have, gratitude and acceptance work.

We may eventually become so happy that we realize our present circumstances are good. Or we master our present circumstances and then move forward into the next set of circumstances.

If we become stuck, miserable, feeling trapped and hopeless, try gratitude and acceptance. If we have tried unsuccessfully to alter our present circumstances and have begun to feel like we're beating our head against a brick wall, try gratitude and acceptance.

If we feel like all is dark and the night will never end, try gratitude and acceptance.

If we feel scared and uncertain, try gratitude and acceptance.

If we've tried everything else and nothing seems to work, try gratitude and acceptance.

If we've been fighting something, try gratitude and acceptance.

When all else fails, go back to the basics.

Gratitude and acceptance work.

Today, Higher Power, help me let go of my resistance. Help me know the pain of a circumstance will stop hurting so much if I accept it. I will practice the basics of gratitude and acceptance in my life, and for all my present circumstances.

Count Your Blessings

Count your many blessings, name them one by one,

Count your many blessings, see what your Higher Power has done!

One Day At A Time

Spiritual Growth
At the start, this was all we needed to commence spiritual growth,
to effect our first conscious relation with Higher Power as we understood Them.
. . .if we wished to grow we had to begin somewhere. So we used our
own conception, however limited it was.

Thought to Ponder
Spiritual progress isn't what gets us sober, it's what keeps us sober.

Daily Motivation

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator

Focus on gratitude
by Ralph Marston

Before you speak, before you act, before you make a decision, take time to appreciate. Look lovingly at where you are, at who you’re with, at what you’re doing, and find a reason to be thankful.

Even in the most difficult situation, there are plenty of reasons for sincere gratitude. Instead of cursing your problems, take a moment to count your blessings, and give your energy to the blessings rather than the problems.

Just imagine how much positive value you will add to any relationship when you focus on gratitude before each interaction. Consider how much more effective your work will be when you find something to sincerely appreciate in everything you do.

The more profoundly you appreciate something in your life, the more value you give to it. In every direction you look, there is something for which you can be sincerely thankful.

Gratitude truly opens your eyes to the incredible abundance that is all around you. Make gratitude your constant companion and that abundance becomes yours to live.
