Today's Gift

To the rationally minded, the mental processes of the intuitive appear to work backward. Their conclusions are reached before their premises. --Frances Wickes

Intuition is a valuable form of wisdom that often seems mystical. We lose our keys and can't find them in any of the usual places and then an idea pops into our mind about where to find them. Only after the fact can we explain – maybe – why that spot came to mind. That's intuition. Or, on a higher plane, we have a feeling that a certain choice in our life would be a big mistake, or one day, for no clear reason, we expect our partner to tell us something important.

The wisdom of our intuition deserves our great respect. It is a valuable guide. Even though it is not 100 percent accurate, and we cannot expect it to be, we should not violate ourselves by contradicting it. Instead, we grow by developing our intuition, listening to what we imagine and what we feel, and following our instincts. Intuition is another form of spiritual strength.

Today I will listen to my inner feelings about things, even when I don't immediately understand them rationally.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Keep It Simple

Bad moments, like good ones, tend to be grouped together. --Edna O'Brien

Rough times may be pouring in on us at the moment, and they may seem unending. Difficulties appear to attract more difficulties, problems with loved ones, problems at work, problems with our appearance. A negative attitude, something that we all struggle with at times (some of us more than others), is the culprit.

When the good times come, as they always do, they are accompanied by a positive attitude. We do find what we look for.

Our attitude is crucial. It determines our experiences. A trying situation can be tolerated with relative ease when we have a positive, trusting attitude. We forget, generally, that we have an inner source of strength to meet every situation. We forget the simple truth--all is well, at this moment, and at every moment. When the moments feel good, our presence is light, cheery. When the moments are heavy, so are we.

Action for the Day: I can turn my day around. I can change the flavor of today's experiences. I can lift my spirits and know all is well.

One Day At A Time

Insanity
They had much knowledge about their self as an alcoholic. Yet all reasons for not drinking were easily pushed aside in favor of the foolish idea that they could take whiskey if only they mixed it with milk!
Whatever the precise definition of the word may be, we call this plain insanity.
How can such a lack of proportion, of the ability to think straight, be called anything else?

Daily Motivation

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator

The way you choose to see life
by Ralph Marston

Even when every person you encounter seems to be thoughtless, rude, inconsiderate, you can still be kind. Even when you feel nothing is going your way, you can still move forward with hope and positive action.

You cannot control much of what unfolds in life. Yet you can control you, how you think, how you feel, what you do, and that is more than enough.

Sure, the quality of your life is affected by outside forces and events. What makes the biggest difference, however, is the way you choose to see life, and to live it.

You can improve your day, powerfully, positively and instantly, by improving your attitude. Whatever is going on, the most successful way to deal with it is from an optimistic, enthusiastic perspective.

In life you’ll encounter a wide range of situations, but you never have to be a victim of circumstance. There is a positive way forward in every moment, and you can always choose it.

For all the drama, noise and angst of this day, there is much good you can do. Decide now, and always, to see it, do it and live it.
