Today's Gift

Celebrate your life and hear your spirit sing. -- Elisabeth L.

"What's to celebrate?" some people ask. We all get our fill of the cynics. Their negativity can weigh down our spirits. But we don't have to let them control how we see our lives or theirs. To keep our own perceptions positive, it helps to detach from the naysayers. We will improve our chances if we consciously focus on gratitude for even the tiny blessings rather than on whatever might be wrong.

Becoming grateful is the strongest, safest means of feeling good. Not only does it readily alter our mood, but it changes our perspective on every detail of our lives. To be thankful rather than "thankless" is a small price to pay for unqualified happiness coupled with serenity.

We've all known people who radiate a singing spirit. They love life, themselves, and others. We seek out their company. We can be like those people for the travelers sharing our journey. Let's do it!

I will practice gratitude today and be a blessing in everyone's life.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Keep It Simple

With each sunrise, we start anew. ----Anonymous

Like a tree, our life depends on new growth. There are many ways to bring new ideas and growth into our lives. We can attend retreats. We can study books and tapes on spirituality.
But our spiritual newness may not just come from the just those things. We can do volunteer work or be active in other types of groups. We need to invite new ideas into our lives. We need to stay open to change. It doesn’t matter what renews our spiritual growth. What matters is that we keep our spiritual lives fresh and growing.

Prayer for the Day: Higher Power, spring is one of the four seasons. Help me feel like spring. Help me to be strong but not stuck Help me be firm yet open to spiritual growth.

Action for the Day: Today, I’ll try to do something new. When I get stuck or stubborn, I’ll see that it’s due to my fear of trying new ideas.

One Day At A Time

Higher Power
We finally saw that faith in some kind of Higher Power was a part of our make-up,
just as much as the feeling we have for a friend. Sometimes we had to
search fearlessly, but They were there.
- Alcoholics Anonymous, p . 55

Thought to Ponder . . .

I would rather live my life as if there is a Higher Power and die to find out there isn't,
than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

Daily Motivation

Excerpt of The Daily Motivator

At peace with right now
by Ralph Marston

Choose to be in a beautiful place, right here, right now, just as you are. Make your experience beautiful simply by the way you choose to see life and to live it.

There is nothing you need before you can have joy. Be joyful just because you can, and because your true joy gives so much value to life.

Be at peace with right now. Embrace the beauty and magnificent possibility of what is.

Feel the massive strength that comes over you when you make the choice to no longer fight against life. Feel the joy of acting positively and purposefully to make your most treasured dreams real.

Cast out any remnants of worry, blame, envy, resentment or fear. You have much more positive, meaningful and beneficial things to focus upon.

Be here right now in this beautiful, powerful place. Live and expand upon the treasure that is yours right now.
